Baaghi 2 is the second installment of Baagi Series directed by Ahmad Khan.
Cast: Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Deepak Dobriyal, Prateik Babbar.
Story: Baaghi 2 revolves around the love story of Ronnie and Neha. Neha (Disha Patani) turns to her ex Ronnie (Tiger Shroff) to help her find her missing daughter “Rhea“. Tiger Shroff, her college sweetheart is now a tough officer serving in the Indian Army & just a message away to help Disha Patani fight for her daughter.
Baaghi 2 has more action than love. The film revolves around the only female cast Neha i.e. Disha Patani. She is badly hit by some goons and left by the side of the road. Soon she finds out that her daughter had been missing, but is being convinced by her husband (Darshan Kumar) and brother in law (Prateik Babbar) that she never had any child and the kidnap is just her imagination.
Ranveer Pratap Singh that is Tiger Shroff is shown a true patriot & making them suffer who disrespect the national flag & pelt stones on the armymen. This was actually seen last year in Kashmir.
Disha turns to her ex Ronnie as no one was ready to enquire about the whereabouts of her daughter.
Ronnie moves to Goa to unravel the mystery. As Tiger Shroff gets deeper into the investigation, he heads to Usman Langda’s garage to rent a car. Usman (Deepak Dobriyal) instantly connects to Ronnie’s situation by saying “Life Mein Bohot Cheezon Se Guzra Hai Vo”.
The next character is DIG Shergill, well played by Manoj Bajpayee who is sympethatic to Ronnie i.e. Tiger Shroff.
Randeep Hooda is playing an encounter specialist ACP named Loha Singh Durg (LSD). LSD is too much into powders & joints, a cool hippie officer.
Prateik Babbar is despicted as Sunny, a crazy cocaine addict who exists only to mentally torture her Bhabhi Disha Patani.
Analysis: The script is overly foussed on the one man army Tiger Shroff. The story could have been a suspense thriller but is an overly romantic action melodrama.
Tiger Shroff’s well built metal physique is the catch in Baaghi 2. There exists really thrilling action moves & stunts by Tiger Shroff. He is seen demolishing buildings and even helicopters cannot stop him from reaching his goal.
Disha Patani is cute as usual but her acting skills require sharpening as she stands no where in front of Tiger Shoff’s emotional evolution.
Tiger Shroff & Disha Patani’s chemistry is to die for. They look cute as college sweethearts – a happy & happening couple with Tiger Shroff making much efforts to keep Disha in good spirits, but she leaves him stranded to get married to the guy of her father’s choice.
Randeep Hooda & Prateik Babbar’s smoky story makes Baaghi 2 interesting & fun to watch.
Talent of Manoj Bajpayee is under-utilised, he had so much to contribute which the director easily ignored.
Dialogues: Tiger Shroff’s dialogue “Sir Tiranga Nahi Jalana Chaiye Tha“; “Yeh Jo Tera Torture Hai, Yeh Mera Warmup Hai” is another take away. There are others like “Deemag Kya Hota Dahi, Dil Kya Hota Sahi“. The dialogues are appropriate as required for any action drama film.
Summary: Baaghi 2 is the remake of Telugu film “Kshanam” but is fit as a 1990s dramatic rollercoaster. Thumbs up to Jacqueline Fernandez performance in the remake of “Ek Do Teen“, a respite from action & domestic abuse. A must watch for action drama film lovers.
