FILM AND TELEVISION INSTITUTE OF INDIA TO GO GLOBAL

FTII – The prestigious institute expert in filmmaking and education is planning to make its mark abroad. The FTII has requested Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to identify countries to bring talent to India.

The FTII would train them and hone their skills. Currently, actors from Nepal have been undergoing training and certifications in “screen-acting”.Nepali actors are under the mentorship of veteran actor and Head of Acting department in FTII, Benjamin Gilani.

Some of the actors amongst others are :

Malina JoshiMiss Nepal

Krishna Kumar Mahato actor of Do Rupaiya.

Mayako Bari actor of Swor-The Melody of Dreams.

The FTII has successfully conducted a number of short-term courses like film appreciation, screen acting, digital cinematography, screenplay writing, fiction writing and various other courses.

The FTII has a long history of creating talented alumni such as Shabana Azmi, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Jaya Bachchan, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah and others. The FTII wants to have an international presence now.
